Back from Blogcation!

And I’m just catching up on what’s up in the Archuworld, including checking out the latest video posted on David’s Twitter:

I was always intrigued about the backstory behind “Broken,” but would have appreciated the release closer to when BEGIN. was released. Still, I realize they have to throw us a bone during this two-year absence. And, honestly, since they had a year to work on this video, I think his “team” could have embellished the video with more info. on what Invisible Children is all about (there are controversies surrounding this organization and the LDS church’s involvement with it).

Speaking of absence, I left a series for you to ponder the fanbase’s (or at least my) O.D.D., and according to the last poll and comments, it seems that, besides the “All of the Above” choice, most want to go on a David tour. So, what does that say?

Well, I think it goes to show that most of us are devoted to the Voice, and as long as David himself is available for us, everything else associated with “success” in the music industry doesn’t really matter, does it?

Also, I realize my last poll about O.D.D. assumed that it needed to be rekindled across the board, while some commenters admitted that their O.D.D. never left! (Yes, that should have been a choice offered).

So, I’m offering a new poll, asking a different question about O.D.D.

O.D.D. Series #7: Rekindling O.D.D. Poll

I could go on and on down this memory-lane trip, but really, the idea is about what O.D.D. meant in the past and to consider what it could mean for us now and for the future. So I thought to end this series with a poll! 🙂

What say you, Soul Davidians, when it comes to rekindling O.D.D.?

O.D.D. Series #6: My First Fan Video

You know you’ve got O.D.D. bad when 1)you actually decide to create a You Tube account and 2)you spend time obsessively creating your first digital video! I’m still fond of the first one I created b/c it captured what for me was “Soul David” and what The Voice did to me.

O.D.D. Series #5: Fan Videos

If fan blogging and David vlogging fed my O.D.D., then nothing like the fan videos that fueled the fire! Especially for those of us who couldn’t experience David in concert. One of my favorite fan videos that helped foster O.D.D. was Evelyn’s shared video of David’s performance of “When You Say You Loved Me” in Salt Lake City during the Idol Tour. Talk about having a David 3-D experience! And his weeping, awwwww!

Thanks for the memories, David fans! Without your efforts, most of us wouldn’t have been hanging around as long as we have! 🙂

O.D.D. Series #4: David Vlogging!

I credit David with giving me the social media hookup, starting with getting me caught up in his You Tube vlogs! And he was cute as a button venturing with his very first vlog (I distinctly remember how it created “controversy” over his pet Conditioner! Oy, Arch Angels! Seriousl!)

But, seriously, if I had not been a David fan, I would have been sooooo slow with joining Facebook and Twitter (no lie!). So, I’m quite savvy with the social media – thanks to my participation in the David fan community. It definitely gave me a leg up among my more mature “peers” who eventually joined along in these endeavors. David definitely kept me young! See, there are some wonderful benefits to O.D.D.
