Memories of Christmas in October

Last year around this time, I was so inspired by The Voice who gave us “Christmas from the Heart.”

Just starting the holiday season two months early (who wouldn’t when we’ve got David Archuleta to listen to?) 🙂

  1. Okay I’m wearing a dressing gown, wrapped inside a blanket and still I got huge chills when David sings that part of “Joy To The World”.

  2. raelovingangels

Ahh… beautiful. It has actully been a tad chilly even in Florida in the AM hours- delightful. This gets me in the mood for fall leading up to the holidays. Have you noticed how in every October- suddenly the shadows are deeper and the light is lighter? I love how the light is this time of year. ( or is it just in my little corner of the world) Somehow all seems right with the world.

  3. Love the Christmas From the Heart album. I’ll be dusting it off soon & listening over & over 🙂

    This is kind of cute–>

  4. Ahhhhhh. WOW. What a beautiful blast from the heart of bliss! Thank you, HG, that really lifted me. I enjoy your articles frequently… ’bout time I told you thanks! I always appreciate your insightfulness, and what you direct our attention to.

  5. I saw the movie ‘The Social Network” this weekend; it’s pretty good. Several parts of the movie made me think of David.

    * A quirky, uber-talented student (Mark Zuckerberg) is somewhat of a social misfit.

    * Zuckerberg has all this computer programming talent but he unwisely uses the internet to hurt someone (i.e., the young lady who rejected him). This reminded me of David’s twittergate incident.

    * Zuckerberg distances himself from the people who had a role in the initial upstart of Facebook. They were right to sue Zuckerberg but they clearly didn’t possess the skills nor passion to take Facebook to the next level. Is there a graceful way to tell those who initially help you that you want to move on without them?

  6. Just looked at Snarkies and saw a return tweet from Melinda to a fan asking about a fan club for David. Lo and behold, I google fan club, because I’m not sure what that entails and come across one for the Jonas brothers. Clicking on it, the first thing I see is a 25th anniversary of the Les Miserables Concert featuring Nick Jonas that will be screened across 500 theaters in the US on November 17th, 2010. Can he even sing?

Next thing to deflate an Archie Fan is reading on my Comcast home page about Taylor Swift’s Management in talks with Glee to feature her music and maybe a guest appearance as well.

What’s left for David? Their leavings?
Anyhoo just wanted to share. I keep hope alive that his time will come in its own way but in the meantime I can vent my frustration from time to time. Not so?
    Good Night all lol!

    • Glee is the big thing right now. They had Madona, Britney Spears, Josh Groban, etc
I understand why people like Glee but to be honest, I don’t really understand why they buy their songs on itunes. For me it’s just karaoke and most of the time the original version is better. They just don’t bring anything new or interesting to the songs. But yeah, I hope David will be on it but I don’t think it’s going to happen anytime soon.

I think a fan club is a good thing but not a priority. I want to see something that would expand his notoriety outside of his established fanbase.

    • @JiveMusic: Hey @DavidArchie fans! Only one day left to enter “The Other Side of David” Fan Fiction Contest. Visit DavidArchuleta.com for details!

Maybe this is what’s left for David, great promo from his label. We shouldn’t be worried lol.

(they should say “Davidarchie US fans” only, like always)

    • N Jonas has a song called “Who I Am” also. Lyrically, it is so one-dimensional (I just wanna be loved for who I am…). I don’t know what he sounds like in other songs but in this one, it is painful to listen to. Sounds mighty forced and so much of that yodeling voice. So I’d say, no he can’t really sing.

David’s time will come some day. A talent like his can not go on unnoticed forever, can it??

      • Quite a bit different from David’s Who I am- which a thoughtful song of substance. For those who missed it- ( which I know you did not miss it Vermeer) Jackryan did an excellent analysis of Who I am on TDC.

    • After I dissed the Jonas version of Who I Am, I feel a little bad as he is doing his best and what works for him. It just doesn’t work for me. That’s all.

Yes! Rae, great review by JR!

  7. I always watch the Kennedy Center Honors with my family during the Christmas holidays. This year, the honorees include Paul McCartney, Oprah, and Jerry Herman (composer/lyricist). http://www.kennedy-center.org/programs/specialevents/honors/

I’m hoping that David is interested in being one of the artists that performs a tribute. I’ll start tweeting Melinda so that she can make this happen for me. 😉

  8. Hey, I want good news. A tweet from AOL :
Calling all @DavidArchie fans: Today is going to be a good day for you… 🙂

I love David’s Christmas album. I never thought I would listen to it when I bought it. I just wanted to support him but his voice is amazing and you just can feel his emotions in the songs. For a reason it makes me feel good !

  9. peter…are you around?

just wondering if you got your email to write a 250 word essay on “why you love David, his music & more”

another job to add to svb, etc…..

    such useless hopeless promo….. 😦

  10. From AINow, I found it interesting :
“In a new interview published today Elton John explains why he wasn’t interested in being a judge on AI. “I’m not a fan of talent shows. I probably wouldn’t have lasted if I’d gone on one. I was asked to judge ‘American Idol.’ I couldn’t do it because I won’t slag anyone off…Also I don’t want to be on television. It’s become boring, arse-paralysingly brain crippling…TV vaults you to superstardom and then you have to back it up, which is hard. (British ‘X Factor’ winners) Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke are at the mercy of the next song they can get.” (via MSNBC)”

And in other news, if you want something to laugh about, JB is doing an acoustic album which will be released soon LOL !!!

    • “Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke are at the mercy of the next song they can get.” Elton makes it sound as if they have absolutely no control over their careers. i wonder if he’s implying that they don’t.

An JB doing an acoustic album, is that fanfiction? lol
