I Know What That Feeling Feels Like

Congrats to our David on being a published author!  🙂

(Thanks for the twitpic link, Burkey).

As someone who has had that sensation, I’m sending warm fuzzy vibes David’s way, now that he has a copy of his book in his hands.

It’s a feeling that no amount of Kindle or Nook copies of ebooks will ever be able to replace.

So, on that note, I am sooooo looking forward to getting a copy of Chords of Strength in my own hands.

Due Date: June 1, 2010.

  1. I know the feeling, too. 🙂 Congrats to you and him!

  2. Thanks, Freo!

  3. Time to post the book chapters again.

Pure beginnings — Hit with inspiration — School of American idol — Bumps in the road — Hope rises — Be careful what you wish for — Stepping it up — Divine frequency — The joy in sound — Staying true — Dreaming on.

    David Archuleta; Monica Haim

    • Wow, are those the actual chapters? Where did you get them?

      • Embe,
Didn’t you know that Desertrat is a highly esteemed Archudetective? Haha!

      • YJfanofdavid

Embe: The following is from Fanscene:

According to World Cat, David Archuleta’s book includes the following chapters:

Pure beginnings — Hit with inspiration — School of American Idol — Bumps in the road — Hope rises — Be careful what you wish for — Stepping it up — Divine frequency — The joy in sound — Staying true — Dreaming on

The chapters start with one of David’s favorite quotations. We know one of the included quotes: “It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities” from Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling.

Salute to Soul David Auchdetectives, Joymus et al. 🙂

    • LOL! This is true!

What kind of book have you published HG? Gah, looking forward to the book- but what is up with all this writing & recording. Hope that meands a double album. David seemed so positive about some of the early stuff- hope what he likes makes the cut and not wnat fits the box for mainstream commericial marketability .

PS: I was in the camp to have David grow his hair out & see how it looked. I like it!

    • Rae,
I sincerely hope deep down in the depths of David’s being he understands that a single album with a puny what – 12-13 songs? is in no way nearly enough for us ravenous archies. David’s music is to be savored and enjoyed and he should explore having his fans enjoy everything he wants us to feel from uptempo dance songs to organic introspective ones. I WANT IT ALL! Heck,it may be quite a while again before we get another album and this one will have to sustain us until then. What a thought!

An academic book, which I published just so I could get tenure.

Not to worry, though. I’m preoccupied in getting another, more passionately inspired book out as we speak. I’ll let you all know when it does! 🙂

  5. HG!
I’ve been kind of out of the loop for personal reasons lately..but I am now catching up at all my favorite blogs, one of which is Soul David. natch!

I want to congratulate you on the 1st anniversary of Soul David and sending my wish that you have many more years of celebrating David in exactly the way you have this last year. Always with respect for and with David’s best interests at heart.

I admire your intelligence and the way you stand up for and voice your opinions about the human rights of everyone. I’ve always admired you for your honesty and brilliant writing.

I may not post often, but you can be sure I make it a point to come here every time I get on the Internet.

Keep up the good work! 🙂

Hi Silverfox! Good to hear from you! (Have you abandoned TDC?). Thanks for the congrats and your approval.

      • Have I abandoned TDC?

I had to think about the word “abandon”. That was a loaded question. For me, it’s ALWAYS been about David, not about me or anyone else. I don’t “know” David personally, I “feel” for him, so when I feel uncomfortable about the direction of the writings & comments, I just have to step back. It was the right thing for ME. It would cause more harm than good if I were to comment there now, so best to leave it alone. It was a personal decision I came to after meeting & talking with David even for the couple of minutes at the VIP’s and then later, getting lost in the brilliance of his CFTH tour and seeing first hand his spirituality, which BTW, in my opinion is not about LDS, but about David’s heart & soul. After seeing him on the CFTH tour I knew without a doubt David is a special being. He changed me AGAIN. And I knew I personally could not be a part of anything negative regarding David. I know David is human and will make mistakes along the way, but one thing I know is David does feel pain, he bleeds like the rest of us. And if he, himself doesn’t read all the sites, his family members do. I hate that he would feel hurt by anything written on a fan site dedicated to him. David does not lie. I don’t think he knows how to lie, so I take him at his word and always will.

It does not mean I begrudge anyone their right to their own opinions about David and what he means when he says the things he says & does. I just want to be given the same right. Whatever comes up in the future, the ups & downs in David’s career, I’ll still be there with him even if I’m no longer visible. I always say I’m a lifer!

As for your Blog, it’s great! Your admiration for David comes through in all your articles, even w/o the OTT gushing like the rest of us tend to do. 😆

      • SF, David is very lucky to have you as a fan…….. 😎

Hi SF: Your post was so beautiful and well said. It brought tears to my eyes. IDK if I will ever have the chance to go to a concert with you again- but I hope I do. You and your sis were such kind and gracious hostesses.

      • hell0g0rge0us

Thanks, SF, for such a heartfelt post. I didn’t mean to put you on the spot with a term like “abandon.” But your voice was definitely missed!

I hope you feel free to post here more often! 🙂

    • I’m happy to hear from you. As HG said, your voice was missed.

  6. SF 2:33, I enjoyed reading your post and consequently, I’m inspired to try to be a better fan. Thx!

“I” 11:09, Thx and we luv you back!

Last, as one of the many Archudetectives, I found some good news. Actually, it’s old news but I just discovered it. Yesterday, @d3r3ksh3ldon, the twitter instigator w/the crown, made an announcement: “I will be taking an extensive leave and possibly retirement. Sometimes things just don’t work.”

  7. SF,
Thank you for the sentiments expressed. As does any other site, they have a right to publish what they want but we as readers reserve the right to post comments or not as befits our comfort levels. I would also like to echo Rae’s comment and once again thank both you and your sister for being gracious hostesses.
